Wp Mini League Rules
Written by Travis Fisher    Monday, 31 May 2010 16:11    PDF Print E-mail

League Slalom. A fun filled day where not only will the top skiers help you through the slalom course, but compete against them on a handicap system and beat them. Come on, learn to ski through aslalom course and see what it really takes.
Objective
The Western Province League is a way of bridging the gap between recreational skiers and tournament skiers. To advance from free water slalom skiing to running a full slalom course is a daunting task. In order to cater for skiers still learning the slalom course extras bouys have been added, which are narrower than a full course turn bouys. Skiers are then awarded points for every bouy they round. The skier with the most points wins. The points section is divided in to 3 groups, Mini League, League and Qualifying League. As a skier earns more points, that skier will move up to next group.
Once a skier has graduated to the full slalom course, a handicap system (much like golf) has been developed, which enables skiers of all abilities to ski against each other.
